Our Mission

At OSPREY Camp, we strive to consistently create a safe environment where students experience hands on learning in the great outdoors, connect with their peers to build new and everlasting friendships, and grow into the very best version of themselves. From our students to our mentors, camp staff to our teachers, we believe everyone is someone and each of you is important.

Our Vision

At OSPREY Camp, we pride ourselves on creating a loving, open, and inclusive environment for our staff, volunteers, mentors, teachers, and students. OSPREY Camp is both secular and non-partisan, and we maintain a separation between OSPREY Camp and Camp Solomon Schechter’s religious programming. OSPREY Camp strives to be an emotionally, spiritually, and physically safe place for all young people to get outside in meaningful ways. OSPREY Camp has a zero-tolerance policy for hatred, bigotry, homophobia, racism, sexism, colonialism, colorism, xenophobia, ableism, violence, antisemitism, and oppression of any kind. Any participant, adult or minor, who illustrates bigotry towards another individual is not welcome at OSPREY Camp.

Accreditation

Camp Solomon Schechter, the home of OSPREY Camp, is accredited by the American Camp Association. This means we meet or exceed the industry standards in over 300 measures of health, safety and professionalism.

Partnership

OSPREY Camp is a proud member of the Washington Outdoor School Coalition (WOSC). Together, OSPREY and other outdoor schools works towards achieving our collective goal that all children in Washington State should be able to attend outdoor school. Our state is home to some of the most unique and breathtaking watersheds and bio-diverse environments — it’s up to all of us to build the net generation of environmental stewards and advocates.
